What is Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a gentle hands-on technique that influences the continuous movements of the cranial bones and the body’s fascial system which are influenced by the rhythm of the cerebrospinal fluid as it moves through the membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord.

During a CST treatment, patients remain fully clothed while the therapist addresses the full body (including the head, sutures, spine, diaphragms, and fascia). CST techniques can also be incorporated with more traditional Swedish massage techniques and/or acupuncture.

CST treatments work by optimizing the flow of cerebrospinal fluid, releasing myofascial tension patterns, and restoring misaligned bones.

Conditions that may benefit from CST include concussion symptoms, headaches, tinnitus, TMJ, stress, insomnia, muscle tension, joint pain, and many others.
